DENVER (AP) — A 24-year-old man has pleaded guilty to charges that he killed his mother and stabbed his adult sister at a home in suburban Denver.
The Denver Post reports Adrian Ramirez pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree murder and first-degree assault in the October 2017 attacks in Westminster.
Adams County prosecutors say police found 41-year-old Cherie Ramirez unconscious inside the home after she had been bludgeoned with a hammer and stabbed multiple times. She later died at a hospital.
They also found 24-year-old Anecia Ramirez with a stab wound to her torso. She survived the attack.
Prosecutors say officers found Adrian Ramirez in the house covered in blood and holding a knife and a hammer.
Ramirez is scheduled to be sentenced May 16.
