FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Police in Fort Collins caught a Colorado Correctional Center inmate escapee who was serving a 30-day sentence before walking away from a work crew Wednesday.

Cody Harris, 27, was apprehended without incident in Fort Collins Thursday evening, the Colorado Department of Corrections tweeted.

Authorities said Harris escaped from a correctional crew work detail near Interstate 76 in Adams County around noon.

A spokesperson for the DOC said Harris was sentenced to a month-long stint at the minimum security facility in Golden for a disorderly conduct conviction. It’s not clear what additional charges or time behind bars he may be facing after Wednesday's incident.
