ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. – On the same day that a Cherry Creek School District teacher was arrested for multiple counts of child sex assault and exploitation, Denver7 has learned that a security guard working for the district was arrested in May after he was caught allegedly sexting and having oral sex with at least one student at the school he worked at.

Broderick Jerrod Lundie, 29, was arrested on May 4 on possession of child pornography, promotion of obscenities to a minor and sexual assault charges.

Denver7 Investigates obtained his arrest affidavit, which alleges that Lundie exchanged lewd text messages with several students at the school he worked at, Grandview High School, between February and April of this year.

Aurora police were first tipped off to the allegations in mid-April, when someone from the school contacted the school resource officer at Grandview High. Several girls at the school had been telling one another that at least one girl was communicating with Lundie and that they’d traded nude photos.

According to the affidavit, police found some of the photos on the girl’s phone. As the investigation continued through the week, several more girls at the school came forward to allege Lundie had also done the same with them or offered to.

One of the girls admitted she and Lundie had given one another oral sex at one point.

By early May, more victims had come forward, and on May 4, Aurora detectives interviewed Lundie.

According to the affidavit, Lundie admitted to sending nude photos of himself to at least one of the girls, and also admitted to the oral sex exchange, though he denied performing it on the girl.

Detectives then went back and interviewed that girl, who told police the details of how the two met up and allegedly had oral sex.

According to court records, Lundie posted a $25,000 bond on May 5 — the day after his arrest. He’s due in court on Aug. 28 to be arraigned in Arapahoe County.

Multiple requests for comment made to Cherry Creek Schools regarding Lundie’s arrest and whether or not the district notified students and parents have gone unreturned.

Prairie Middle School teacher Brian Vasquez was arrested and charged with child sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a child on Tuesday. His school is also part of the Cherry Creek School District.

The district notified parents and students hours after his initial arrest. He has been placed on administrative leave for the time being.
