BOULDER, Colo. – Police are looking for a man who tried to lure a child into his car with $25 last Thursday evening.
A 9-year-old boy who had stopped at a nearby park after riding his bike in the area of Spine and Wellington Road was approached by a man who offered him $25 to get into his car. He told the boy he would “drive him around the block and take him home,” according to police.
The boy declined and quickly rode away back home.
The child enticement happened on June 20 at around 8:40 p.m., police said.
The suspect is described as a dark-skinned Hispanic male who police say spoke with a Spanish accent. He is 40 years old and has black, “buzzed” hair, brown eyes and a goatee.
The boy told police the man was wearing a Vans off-the-wall camouflage hat with meshing in the back, and had “wavy” green and red hat tattoos on his arm.
The man may be driving an older model white van with sliding doors.
