AURORA, Colo. – Remains that appear to be human were found during a construction dig in Aurora, police said Wednesday evening.
Officers received a call at around 10 a.m. Wednesday from a construction crew that reported they had found “what appeared to be human bones” while excavating in the area of E. Smoky Hill Parkway and S. Powhaton Rd.
Aurora Police Office Matthew Longshore said in a news release the scene where the bones were found has been secured by officers until a forensic dig can be completed and a thorough search of the immediate area has been done.
He said a final autopsy will be completed by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office after the safe removal of the bones from the area.
