DENVER -- Police were investigating a homicide after a man was found shot to death in the Barnum neighborhood.
Officers with the Denver Police Department were called to South Knox Court near West Cedar Avenue around midnight Sunday.
Once at the scene, officers found a body, later identified as 53-year-old Frank Chavez. Another man was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

"Details will remain very limited because investigators don’t want to compromise the investigation,” said Technician Eranda Piyasena with the DPD.
Investigators set up a tent around the body which was on a sidewalk on South Knox Court.

No one was in custody in connection with this homicide, Piyasena told Denver7's Amanda del Castillo.
