AURORA, Colo. – Officials have ruled the death of a woman found inside a burned Jeep on the shoulder of Interstate 225 in Aurora last weekend a homicide, according to a release from the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office.

The victim -- identified as 46-year-old Vicky Salvadora De Dios -- was dead before the fire, the release read. She died from unspecified injuries.

Police said on Saturday evening, the driver of a blue SUV pulled out of the southbound lanes of I-225 near E. Colfax Avenue, drove onto the shoulder and stopped the car. The car was parked before it caught fire.

Police received a report of a car fire and responded to the scene around 1 a.m. Sunday. After firefighters extinguished the blaze, they found Salvadora De Dios' body inside.

Aurora police are asking for the public's help as they piece together what happened.
