BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — Authorities released surveillance video stills Wednesday of a van that is believed to be involved in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a cyclist in Boulder County.
The images show a 2000 Dodge Ram van that investigators said struck bicyclist Andrew “Bernie” Bernstein who was riding in the right shoulder on Highway 7 around 4:30 p.m. the afternoon of July 20.
The driver of the Dodge van took off after the crash that occurred near mile marker 56.
Bernstein was critically injured and transported to the hospital where he remains intubated and sedated, according to the victim’s attorney.
The CSP said the van should have damage on the passenger side front corner.
Investigators are asking anyone who may be important information about the case to call the Colorado State Patrol as soon as possible.
The Denver and Front Range community of cyclists are hosting events this week to highlight the recent deaths of two cyclists in Denver.
