BRIGHTON, Colo. – An inmate who was accidentally released from the Adams County Detention Facility Friday has been captured.
Shannon Owens, 31, was being held on a parole violation for the Colorado Department of Corrections when he was released from the jail after he presented himself as another inmate who was being released at the time, deputies said Saturday.
Owens was captured after an Adams County Sheriff's deputy found a car associated with Owens at a motel in the area of East 88th Avenue and I-76 at around 8 a.m. Sunday. He was taken back into custody without incident.
Owens will be held at the Adams County Detention Facility on his parole hold and an additional charge of escape.
