62-year-old man dies after hit-and-run in Aurora; police seek suspected driver

AURORA, Colo. – A 62-year-old man died after he was struck by a vehicle in south Aurora, and police are asking for your help to find the suspect.

The man, whose identity was not immediately released, was struck at the intersection of E. Iliff Avenue and South Peoria Street at around 7:30 p.m. Friday, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.

Investigators say a passerby found the man lying in the roadway and called police.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment but died from his injuries shortly after, police said.

Police do not have information about the suspected vehicle or driver, so they’re asking anyone who may have information about the crash to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and are eligible for a $2,000 reward.

Aurora police said this is the 35th fatal crash in the city of Aurora so far this year.
