6 shot, 2 dead in 5 separate incidents in the Denver area this weekend

DENVER — Police are investigating at least five separate shooting incidents that left two dead and four wounded in the Denver area this weekend.

The shootings occurred Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Denver and Commerce City. No arrests were announced in any of the incidents.

The first shooting occurred Friday evening on West Alameda Avenue and South Raritan Street. A man was shot and transported himself to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Around 7:50 a.m. Saturday, Commerce City police were called to the 11200 block of East 96th Place on a report of a shooting.

When they arrived, police found two shooting victims. Both victims were transported to the hospital where a man was pronounced deceased. A woman remains in critical condition, police said.

Authorities did not release any suspect information. But said there does not appear to be any immediate threat to the community.

Hours later, Denver police tweeted they were investigating a shooting in the 3400 block of North Josephine Street. An adult male was shot and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

About an hour later the same day, police in Denver tweeted they were investigating a second shooting at 22nd Street and Welton Street. An adult male was shot and transported to a local hospital with no- life threatening injuries.

The fifth shooting occurred Sunday afternoon at South Federal Boulevard and West Cedar Avenue in Denver. An adult male was shot and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
