CONEJOS COUNTY, Colo. — Two men have been arrested in connection to the discovery of human remains in the San Luis Valley in November 2020, and one suspect who has already been arrested, Adre "Psycho" Baroz, faces new charges.

On Tuesday, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation announced that the Alamosa Police Department had arrested two more men on Monday in connection to this case: Julius Anthony Baroz, 30, and CJ Walter Dominguez, 27, both of Alamosa. Adre Baroz and Julius Baroz are brothers, the CBI confirmed.

Both Julius Baroz and Dominguez are accused of being involved in the death of Myron Martinez, 37, of Del Norte. His remains were found in Conejos County in November 2020. Martinez was the first person to be identified after authorities began investigating at least three sets of human remains found on Nov. 10 in a rural part of the county.

In affidavits for both Julius Baroz, also referred to as "Gato," and Dominguez, a source of information (SOI) was said to be present when Martinez was killed at the apartment of Adre Jordan Baroz, 26, of the Sanford area, also nicknamed "Psycho."

According to the SOI, Myron came to the apartment to purchase drugs. The SOI said Julius Baroz helped hold down Martinez so Adre Baroz could slice his throat. Adre Baroz shot Martinez as well, according to the SOI.

The affidavits say Dominguez later arrived at the apartment and helped Adre Baroz dismember Martinez's body.

Julius Baroz faces charges of first-degree murder and tampering with a deceased human body. He's being held at the Alamosa County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.

Dominguez faces charges of tampering with a deceased human body, accessory to first-degree murder and second-degree kidnapping. He is being held at the Alamosa County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.

Adre Baroz was named as a suspect in this case on Nov. 18, 2020 and was arrested the following day. He's currently being held at the Alamosa County Detention Center without bond.

Adre Baroz faces two new charges of first-degree murder and two additional charges of tampering with remains of a deceased human in connection to the deaths of Martinez and Shayla Hammel, 34, of Saguache. Authorities identified the second set of human remains as Hammel in late December.

Affidavits say Adre Baroz sent a man identified as Dustin McDermott, 24, to get rid of Martinez's car after his murder and take his girlfriend, Hammel, to Lasauses. It's believed Hammel and Adre Baroz had a sexual relationship for two days. The SOI told investigators Adre Baroz said he was going to kill Hammel.

On Dec. 11, Francisco Ramirez, 38, was arrested in Pueblo on federal weapons charges and according to an affidavit, he is also under investigation for being an accessory to the murders. He was allegedly renting one of the properties near where the remains were found. Informants told investigators that “Ramirez had driven his vehicle along with a vehicle belonging to Baroz with mutilated human remains in the vehicle, sometimes for days at a time,” according to the affidavit, which also claims that Ramirez cleaned murder scenes and burned evidence. As of Tuesday, he had not been charged in connection to the deaths.

The third set of human remains has not yet been identified.

Other details on this case have not been released as this is an active and ongoing investigation. The affidavits and warrants are sealed.
