DENVER — Two men — an 18-year-old and a 21-year-old — were arrested after a shooting in a busy part of downtown Denver left one man wounded Saturday night. The 18-year-old was later released and will not be charged, police said.

The shooting occurred inside the underground bus terminal at Union Station around 7 p.m. Police said a man was shot and transported to the hospital with an unknown extent of injuries. Police later said the victim’s condition was “stable.”

A short time later, the Denver Police Department tweeted two men were taken into custody near 20th and Little Raven streets. The names of the suspects were released Sunday morning. Dominico Archuleta, 21, remains the only suspect and is being held for investigation of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault involving serious bodily injury and a deadly weapon, as of Monday morning.

Surveillance video within the terminal was quickly accessed after the incident and helped police locate Archuleta. The video allegedly shows the suspect pull out a semi-automatic handgun and shoot the victim in the abdomen, according to a probable cause statement.

The circumstances that led up to the shooting are still under investigation. The suspect was then seen in the video running out of an adjacent door immediately after the shooting, the documents said. He was found a short time later at Confluence Park.

Authorities have recently increased patrols and presence in and around Union Station following safety concerns in the area. Last month, Denver police arrested more than 40 people inside RTD's bus terminal at Union Station.
