COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Peterson Air Force Base's 21st Space Wing announced its youth center would be closed Monday for cleaning after learning about several positive COVID-19 cases.
The base said Sunday two children and one staff member for the youth center tested positive for the virus. The center is being deep cleaned and reopening Tuesday, according to officials.
Though the center is reopening, Peterson officials said the open recreation program will be suspended until further notice "due to staffing shortages."
The base also said those who were in contact with the staff member and children were notified by the 21st Medical Group Public Health.
