The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Colorado Springs officer-involved shooting at a Carl's Jr. off Powers Boulevard that left one man dead Thursday morning.
Reports of shots fired at the fast food restaurant near Galley Road and Powers Boulevard were called in before 4 a.m.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the officer was off his shift and going through the drive-thru when a man approached saying he had a weapon. Police said the man died and that the officer fired at least one shot.

CSPD says that local businesses near the restaurant will be closed as the investigation continues throughout the day. There are no traffic impacts at this time.
The sheriff's office will lead the investigation.
