A woman arrested in connection with the drug overdose death of a Colorado Springs teenager over the summer has pleaded guilty.
The Gazette reports 23-year-old Marjorie Dietrich struck a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty Wednesday to selling cocaine. She faces up to six years in prison when she is sentenced Feb. 10.
Megan Pacheco, who was a 17-year-old student at Sand Creek High School, died in July after taking MDMA, a party drug commonly known as Molly or ecstasy.
Dietrich was arrested after a sting operation meant to identify the source of the drugs that led to Pacheco's death. Investigators say a confidential informant bought cocaine from Dietrich on one occasion and ecstasy on another.
Ecstasy can affect the body's ability to regulate temperature, sometimes causing death.
