Teens who crashed stolen car in Colorado Springs arrested thanks to help from K9, police say

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Two teens were arrested Thursday night after reportedly crash a stolen car in Colorado Springs, according to police.

Officers were investigating an incident in the area of Rebecca Lane and Van Teylingen Drive when they heard the sound of gunshots and saw a dark-colored sedan followed closely behind a silver SUV leave the area without headlights on, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.

Officers followed the vehicles and witnessed that the sedan hit three parked cars on Rebecca Lane before both vehicles pulled into the Newport Square Apartments, where the drivers got out and ran, the newspaper reported.

A K9 tracked both teens and in a field north of the apartment complex, and both were arrested without incident.

Police told the Gazette the vehicles were reported as stolen.
