A month-long investigation into mail theft and identity theft, spanning five counties, has led to the arrests of seven people.
Colorado Springs police said the investigation spanned Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert, Teller and El Paso counties and involved police, the financial crimes unit and U.S. Postal inspectors.
The suspects are accused of printing fraudulent checks, printing false Colorado ID, theft of mail from community and individual mailboxes, burglary and distribution of methamphetamine.
"As a result of the investigation over 100 potential victims were identified, arrests were made in 13 new felony cases, 7 felony warrants were cleared, and 6 search warrants were executed," according to Colorado Springs police.
