Man found dead in Colorado Springs parking lot

Posted

Colorado Springs Police are investigating after a person was found dead in a parking lot early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the area of Academy Blvd. North and Rebecca Lane shortly after 7:15 a.m., after getting reports of a deceased male in a parking lot area.

Due to information of a disturbance that had occurred at that location, the Violent Crimes-Homicide Unit was notified and went to the scene to investigate.

This is still an on-going investigation and the cause and manner of the victim’s death will be determined by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.

At this time, there are no apparent signs of trauma on the deceased male, and detectives believe that they have all involved people identified and do not believe there is a danger to the community.

No arrests have been made, as police do not have any suspect information.

The deceased male’s identity is being withheld pending positive identification by the Coroner’s Office and notification of next-of-kin.

If you know anything about this case, you are asked to call the Colorado Springs Police Department.
