A pawn shop clerk being robbed in Colorado Springs decided to fight back and even shot at the suspects.

The clerk was working at Pawn Inc. on Austin Bluffs Parkway Monday night when two men came in at 6:17 p.m.

The clerk told police the "customers" asked to look at several handguns in the display case.

"While they were handling the guns, one male pulled a handgun from his waist band and pointed it at the clerk while the other male put the guns in his backpack," police said.

Officers said the gunman tried to fire his gun, but it failed to fire and the suspects ran for the door.

Police said the clerk then grabbed his gun and shot at the suspects.

No one was hit and no one was hurt.

Police have not released a description of the suspects or surveillance pictures.
