COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A juvenile was arrested after officers responded to reports of an explosion at a home in Colorado Springs Wednesday afternoon.
At around 4:47 p.m., Colorado Springs Police Department patrol officers found that an IED was detonated at a home in the area of Ashby Field Drive and Amber Ridge Drive.
Personnel from the Regional Explosives Unit took over the case and investigators eventually found that a nearby home also had “additional improvised explosive devices along with homemade explosives and precursors,” according a news release from the police department.
All of the explosives and precursors were seized and rendered safe, department officials said.
