COLORADO SPRING, Colo. -- The father of 3-month-old, who police said threatened to kill a woman and their baby boy before driving away with the child in Colorado Springs, is in custody and the baby is safe.
An AMBER Alert was issued for 3-month-old Blaze Cort-Beatty, six hours after he was taken by his father in Colorado Springs at around 9:15 a.m. Saturday.
The suspect, Jonathan Cort-Beatty, 39, reportedly threatened to kill a woman and their 3-month-old child during a fight.
When the victim left to report the incident to police, Beatty took off with with the 3-month-old and was last seen driving a 2012 white Chevrolet pickup truck with Colorado license plate 327-YVV.
The Colorado Springs Police Department tweeted the suspect was in custody and the baby was safe at around 4:10 p.m.
