A dog was shot twice early Tuesday morning when someone opened fire at an apartment complex in Colorado Springs.
Neighbors told police they heard several shots in the rear of their apartment building, then another five or six shots in the front of the building on Starlight Court, near Academy Boulevard and Hancock Expressway, around 3 a.m.
"When officers arrived on scene they discovered that two rear sliding glass doors were damaged at two separate addresses," Colorado Springs police said. "Officers also discovered that two rounds went through the front window of one apartment and three more rounds struck the building."
The dog was hit in the left side and front left paw. He was taken to a vet for treatment.
Police said they don't have any suspect or vehicle information and the investigation is ongoing.
