COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A man driving a stolen car picked the wrong place to drive Tuesday.
Colorado Springs police said the man was spotted trying to drive through a closed area of Cimarron Street that was under construction.
When an officer working the construction zone tried to stop the man, he drove off on Interstate 25.
A Colorado State Patrol trooper working the same construction zone chased the man, but stopped the pursuit minutes later, police said.
When the driver exited I-25, he stopped in front of another officer who recognized the vehicle and managed to arrest the suspect.
The suspect, Abraham Paquet, was arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft, felony eluding and numerous traffic charges, police said.
The car was reported stolen on Monday in El Paso County. The vehicle was returned to the owners, police said.
