FOUNTAIN, Colo. – A Colorado war veteran from Fountain lost his home and three dogs to a house fire Tuesday night, according to news outlets in Colorado Springs.
The home fire was reported on Wind Spirit Point, southwest of Pikes Peak International Raceway at around 10 p.m., ABC affiliate KRDO-TV reported on Tuesday.
The home was declared a complete loss and three dogs that were inside were killed, according to The Gazette.
Robert Dickinson, the homeowner, told local media he lost everything in the blaze.
"I just lost everything. Stuff I won over in Iraq, that is all burnt. ... All my medals have just fried too. ... All my paperwork's gone. Everything,” The Gazette reported.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
