A man whose body was pulled from a lake near Colorado Springs was a popular country folk guitarist and songwriter who started his career more than four decades ago.
The Gazette reports Chuck Pyle, 70, was found floating face down in Palmer Lake on Nov. 6. The El Paso County coroner's office says he may have had a heart attack and that arterial disease could have also contributed to his death.
Pyle was fishing when he died, and his girlfriend went looking for him when he didn't return home by dark.
The newspaper reports Pyle, affectionately known as the "Zen Cowboy," wrote music that was covered by such bands and musicians as John Denver, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Suzy Bogguss and Chris LeDoux.
