Body found in Colorado Springs RV fire, death investigation underway

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Authorities are investigating after a body was found inside an RV engulfed in flames in Colorado Springs early Saturday night.

Police and firefighters arrived at the scene of the fire in the area of Santa Fe Street and South Prospect Street at around 7:20 p.m. Once there, they found the RV fully engulfed in flames.

As firefighters worked to put out the fire, they found a dead man inside, according to Lieutenant Howard Black, a spokesperson for the police department. A death investigation is now underway.

The fire was put out by about 8 p.m. and investigators are working to determine the cause, according to sister station KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs.
