3 juveniles accused of starting fire at abandoned house in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Three juveniles were able to escape a house fire in Colorado Springs that they're accused of starting in the first place. 

Officers responded to the abandoned house fire in the area of North Marksheffel Road and East Woodmen Road on Friday at around 3:21 p.m.

The three juveniles reportedly began lighting various items on fire and the fire quickly spread, engulfing the whole structure, according to an official with the Colorado Springs Police Department. 

The juveniles were contacted by police a short distance away from the abandoned lot. No one was arrested. 

The structure was declared a total loss. The investigation into the fire is ongoing.
