Prosecutors on Monday sought to bring additional charges against the person suspected of carrying out a mass shooting at a Colorado Springs LGBTQ nightclub in November.
Fourth Judicial District Attorney Michael Allen wants to bring an additional 12 criminal charges against Anderson Aldrich, 22, who is suspected of killing five people at the Club Q nightclub on Nov. 19, according to a motion filed with the court Monday.
Aldrich already faces 305 criminal charges in connection with the attack, including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, bias-motivated crimes and attempted murder. Aldrich is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
Allen’s proposal would raise that total count of criminal charges to 317, according to the motion. He previously cautioned that the charges against Aldrich could change as the investigation into the shooting continued.
Prosecutors want to add six charges in connection with one victim, and another six charges in connection with a second identified victim. The new charges include attempted murder, assault and carrying out a bias-motivated crime.
