Volunteer leads toy drive to help families

Posted
Many of the major office buildings in the Denver metro area have reached sky-high to make the holidays brighter for those less fortunate. The workers in these familiar office towers are led by 7Everyday Hero Sondra Langston.

For the past nine years Langston has helped organize the annual Denver BOMA Toy Drive. BOMA is the Building Owners and Managers Association. Denver BOMA collects toys from buildings from Longmont to Castle Rock.

"We probably have about 120 to 130 buildings we pick up from," said Langston.

In 2015, Denver BOMA collected more than more than 25,000 gifts for Christmas that are donated to families in need.

"BOMA has two main charities that we service and that's Denver Children's Home and Mount Saint Vincent, however we also service about nine other charities; Father Woody's, Visiting Nurses, Champa House, and the list goes on and on," said Langston.

Langston said taking time to help others is what makes her Christmas bright.

"If I can help a family that's working hard, I will do that," Langston.
