DENVER--Colorado’s Secretary of State Wayne Williams stands by the integrity of the state’s mail-in ballot system, despite recent questions raised by Donald Trump.
"Our security procedures are in place. Our voting tabulation systems are not connected to the internet, and Colorado protections are better than they are in many other states," said the El Paso County Republican.
Trump appeared in Colorado this weekend and raised skepticism among voters attending a rally.
"Who has sent their ballots in? Now do you think those ballots are properly counted?" asked Trump. “You can check on your ballot to make sure it's counted properly. I know they're all saying, 'of course, everything is so legitimate.' Perhaps I'm a more skeptical person, okay?"
Williams stands by the Colorado set-up, noting all drop boxes are under 24/7 surveillance. There's signature verification and bi-partisan teams collect and process the ballots All steps to prevent tampering.
"I welcome anyone asking the questions. I welcome them coming and reviewing the process," said Williams.
