GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- The City of Grand Junction is seeking volunteers for layoffs because of budget cuts.

Employees have until Oct. 17 to accept voluntary separation agreements, and the city will know after that how much money it will save.

Grand Junction has 635 full-time employees.

According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel , Grand Junction City Manager Greg Caton says the city may be facing a $2 million shortfall in the general fund and the capital improvement budgets, which total about $75 million.
