DENVER -- Frontier Airlines is planning to start flights to Havana, Cuba.
An email sent to customers on Thursday said, "Now flying to Cuba" and advertised fares as low as $189 roundtrip.
However, prices from Denver to Havana start at $281 roundtrip because travelers will have to stop in Miami.
Frontier's website is allowing travelers to book flights starting December 1.
Most of the cheapest seats are available in January, but Frontier's booking website has a warning that says, "The route you have selected is subject to government approval."
Frontier is one of six airlines granted permission by the U.S. Department of Transportation to begin scheduled flights to Cuba as early as this fall.
