Xcel Energy is teaming up with local retailers to offer you a discount on CFL and LED light bulbs.
"CFLs need a little more energy when they are first turned on, but once the electricity starts moving, CFLs use about 70% less energy than incandescent bulbs," according to Energy Star.
In Denver, Home Depot is offering discounts on a variety of bulbs from nine Watt to 23 Watt bulbs. Prices start at $2.97 for two bulbs.
However, other stores have cheaper prices such as some Dollar Tree locations that are offering 4 packs of bulbs for $1. Target in Glendale has bulb packs starting at $2.50 for two bulbs.
To find a retailer offering discounted bulbs in your area, visit the Xcel Energy bulb finder website and enter your zip code.
