The City of Golden wants you to explore the city and its trails by bike -- and they'll even loan you a bike for free.
Golden's Bike Library at the Golden Visitors Center at 1010 Washington Avenue opens June 22.
Residents, visitors, employees and students can borrow a bike, for up to two hours, for free. If you want to borrow a bike for a day, there's a $10 fee.
The Golden Bike Library has bicycles available in different sizes including children’s bikes and light-weight geared bikes in multiple sizes to cruise around town or tackle Golden’s hills, officials said.
Bikes will be available Thursday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There's a key drop box so bikes may be returned after hours.
Bikes come with a lock and a helmet. And there's a bonus! Riders get a reusable water bottle and a Golden Ticket good for discounts at various Golden businesses and restaurants.
Learn more on the Golden Bike Library's website. Note, the bikes are at the city's visitors center, not the city library.
There's even a bike path next to the visitor center. It follows a creek and is very pleasant.
