DENVER -- We’re almost two months into summer, which means only one thing: Winter is coming. And quite rapidly for Colorado, if we say so ourselves.
Both Keystone Resort and Breckenridge Ski Resort will open for the 2017-2017 winter season on Friday, Nov. 10, a spokesperson for the resorts announced Wednesday.
Officials predict Keystone will open for the winter season through Sunday, April 8, 2018. As for Breckenridge, they predict the ski resort will be open until Sunday, April 22, 2018.
Capital Improvements at both resorts
At Keystone Resort, the Montezuma Express Lift, which officials say is a primary lift on Dercum Mountain that serves popular beginner and intermediate ski terrain, is being replaced with a new high-speed, six-passenger chair that will increase efficiency and capacity by up to 25 percent, while improving skier and snowboarder circulation on the mountain.
At Breckenridge, he Falcon SuperChair on Peak 10 is being replaced with a new high-speed, six-passenger lift, offering an easier ride up the mountain. Peak 10 is a popular area for advanced skiers and snowboarders providing access to fun and challenging terrain, easily accessed from the Peak 9 base area.
The resorts’ epic passes are also now on sale. You can find more information by clicking here.
Editor’s note: Arapahoe Basin is usually the first ski resort to open in Colorado, with an average opening date of late October.
