DENVER – Seniors who wish to visit a national park: Prepare to pay up to $80 for a lifetime pass starting Monday.
The price of the America the Beautiful – The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass is increasing by $70, the first hike in price since 1994.
The price of the lifetime senior pass is increasing as a result of H.R. 4680, the National Park Service Centennial Act.
Revenue from the new price will be used to enhance the visitor experience in parks, a National Park Service spokesperson said in a press release.

You have to be 62 years or older to be eligible for the senior pass. The pass provides access to more than 2,000 recreation sites managed by six federal agencies.
To purchase a senior pass, you can visit any federal recreation site (click this link to find sites where the pass is available) or you can also do it online and by mail.
