DENVER -- The largest home improvement retailer in country is going on a hiring binge as it prepares for its busiest season.

Home Depot announced Thursday that it is looking to hire 1,400 people in the Denver area. Nationwide, the retailer needs to fill 80,000 positions.

The company said opportunities in Denver include both permanent part-time and seasonal positions. College students, retirees and veterans are encouraged to apply.

All interested candidates must apply online.
