DENVER – The biggest exhibition of Claude Monet’s paintings will come to the Denver Art Museum in the fall – the only venue in the U.S. to host such a collection, and demand for tickets will surely draw thousands from across the country to the Mile High City.

On Thursday, Denver Art Museum officials finally announced when tickets would go on sale for the general public, amping up anticipation for what’s sure to be one of the biggest revenue-generating events for the DAM and a big tourist attraction for the city as a whole.

Individual tickets go on sale Tuesday, June 25 starting at 10 a.m., with members getting dibs with a presale scheduled to take place from June 10 to June 24, DAM officials said in a news release Thursday. Members can expect more information about presale tickets to arrive in the mail “shortly.”

Tickets may be purchased online, by calling (720) 913-0130 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., or in person at the museum’s welcome center. When tickets go on sale, the museum’s plaza will also feature “a special installation with interactive moments for the public and the media.” More details about what that will be about are expected in June.

Group tickets and event reservations are already on sale.

“Claude Monet: The Truth of Nature” will feature more than 125 paintings spanning the French Impressionist’s career, emphasizing “the artist’s enduring relationship with nature and his response to the varied and distinct places in which he worked,” including his increasing abandonment of any human presence in the landscapes he created, according to denverartmuseum.org.

The exhibition, expected to fill more than 20,000 square feet of gallery space, will include works loaned from museums in Boston, Chicago, New York and Paris.

“Claude Monet: The Truth of Nature” opens October 21, 2019 and runs until February 2, 2020.
