We’ve all had late night cravings. “A raid on the ice box.” (Wait, no one uses that term anymore, do they? Ice box? Been watching too much “Leave It To Beaver.”)
Now, a team of researchers at the University of Michigan, all of whom we presume are now on diets, has done a study to determine which foods are the most addictive. Not surprisingly, pizza is at the top of the list.
The two-part study aimed to suss out the foods most likely to cause “addictive-like eating behaviors.”
“It is plausible that like drugs of abuse,” reads the conclusion of the study, “these highly processed foods may be more likely to trigger addictive-like biological and behavioral responses due to their unnaturally high levels of reward.”
