DENVER – You may have experienced FOMO after the Denver County Fair, the Boulder County Fair and the Arapahoe County Fair passed through their respective towns, but it’s not too late to enjoy some corn dogs, cotton candy and other fried delicacies.
Four more state county fairs are taking place in the month of August, so don’t miss out and plan ahead for these trips:
1. Archuleta County Fair
Aug. 3 – 6 in Pagosa Springs
Taste several entries that will be available before the homemade ice-cream contest, root for the contestants participating in the blindfolded lawn-mower races and enter the pie-eating contest to gain state-wide recognition!
2. Larimer County Fair
Aug. 4 – 8 in Loveland
Enjoy the Dog and Pony Show, the Kids Pedal Tractor Pulls and Moo U, and participate in a guided livestock tour that takes those coming from the city into a wild ride of the livestock industry.
3. San Luis Valley Fair
Aug. 5 – 12 in Monte Vista
If you’re in for the personification of the world “county fair,” you’d better go to the San Luis Valley. Enjoy Truck-and-Tractor pulls, team-roping competitions and the newest addition this year: Cow-pie bingo! (It’s as fun and gross as it sounds)
4. Colorado State Fair
Aug. 25 – Sept. 4 in Pueblo
Cowboys and cowgirls alike will take over the Budweiser Rodeo area at the same time that a day-time and night-time carnival will offer pure and classic Americana fun! Come for the entertainment, stay for Pueblo renowned chiles.
