Free concerts that are taking place in Colorado this summer

DENVER – No one can complain about Colorado’s music scene and it’s pretty hard to do so when the music is free of charge.

Here are several concerts taking place across Colorado you may want to take the whole family to:

1. Arapahoe Philharmonic Summer Concert

The Arapahoe Philharmonic is launching its 2017-18 season with a free Americana/pop performance featuring music by Bernstein, Copland, Gershwin, Sousa, Williams and others.

The concert takes place Sunday, July 2 at 3 p.m. at the Fisher Auditorium on The Englewood Campus. The campus is located at 3800 South Logan Street in Englewood.

2. ‘Rock Your Summer’ at the Outlets at Castle Rock

The Outlets at Castle Rock are kicking off their annual “Rock Your Summer” concert series on Friday, June 30 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Headlining the summer concert series will be the Tunisia Band, a Denver-based group that has garnered attention for their “insanely high-energy live show.”

The Outlets at Castle Rock are located at 5050 Factor Shops Boulevard, Suite 437.

The Country Music Project will play on July 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and The Midnight Club will perform on August 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

3. Broomfield’s Summer Nigh Concert Series

The annual Summer Nights Concert Series in Broomfield is at it again with live music, dancing, drinks, food and fun at the AMC Theaters Court. There’s also a beer garden that opens at 5 p.m. every Thursday.

The concert series goes through August 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

4. Concerts in Clement Park

Foothills Park & Recreation District's “Concerts in Clement Park” incorporates community collaborations and grant funded performances which are free, open to the public and family friendly.

The performances are held at the Grant Family Amphitheater in Clement Park starting at 7 p.m. To see a list of the performances, click here.

5. Denver’s Union Station Summer Concert Series

Denver’s Union Station knows how to work a crowd: The iconic landmark is hosting a summer concert series until Aug. 25, featuring local bands outside the Terminal Bar patio.

The concert series will be held on the last Friday of each month from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on an extended Terminal Bar Plaza Beer patio.

There is no cover charge, but you must be 21 to consume alcohol.

6. Concert in the Park concert series in Frisco

Frisco’s Concert in the Park series kicked off last week and will run for nine Thursdays through Aug. 17 at the Frisco Historic Park.

The series will feature music from bluegrass to country to jazz to rock.

The concerts starts at 5:30 p.m. each Thursday and are free to the public. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs and well-behaved pets to join in on the best family friendly happy hour in Summit County.
