DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. -- Four students in Douglas County schools earned a perfect score on the ACT college admissions test.

"I feel like a score of 36 is a pretty big achievement and it really makes the (college) application shine a little bit,” said Aaron Lou who attends Highlands Ranch High School.

“I feel like getting a 36 opens up a lot of doors and I’m excited,” said Abigail Cousins who attends Rock Canyon High School.

The average national composite score is 21.

The other students from the Douglas County School District who earned a perfect score were Logan Dunn at ThunderRidge High School and Shuee Ong at Rock Canyon High School.

All Colorado juniors were required to take the ACT test this year. However, the state is transitioning to the SAT college entrance exam tin 2017
