LAFAYETTE, Colo. — Members of the Boulder County bomb squad have determined that a device found at Centaurus High School in Lafayette was an imitation explosive device.
Construction workers found the device Tuesday morning. The bomb squad was dispatched to assist in removing the item and later determined that it did not pose a threat.
Police are not releasing any details on the item found or the location where it was placed for investigative purposes.
The last day of school for Centaurus High School students was Monday. The school building was open Tuesday for faculty, staff and construction workers only.
