DENVER – The building that once housed the world headquarters for Samsonite in northeast Denver now belongs to Denver Public Schools.
The district announced the purchase of the 113,000-square-foot building Wednesday. DPS spent $11.1 million on the acquisition, which was made possible through a bond measure.
DPS has been leasing space in the building, located at 11200 East 45th Avenue, since 2012. The 13-acre site currently houses the district’s High Tech Early College.
The newly-acquired campus will help the district keep pace with growing enrollment in the far northeast area of the city, DPS said in press release.
