DENVER – The National Park Service is turning 103 this weekend, and you’re invited to the party free of charge!

That’s right: The National Park Service (NPS) is waiving entrance fees to all of its parks this Sunday, Aug. 25; so what better opportunity to get outside and explore the beauty of our Colorado?

Luckily for you, Rocky Mountain National Park isn’t the only park you can visit across the state – Colorado is home to four of them:

  • Rocky Mountain National Park
  • Mesa Verde National Park
  • Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve
  • Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park

The Centennial State also boasts four national monuments, which are also offering free admission this Sunday: Colorado National Monument, Dinosaur National Monument, Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, and Hovenweep National Moment.

There is a caveat, though: The free day waiver does not cover amenity or user fees for activities such as camping, boat launches, transportation or special tours.

Can't go this weekend? There will be two more free days at national parks across the country: Sept. 28 (National Public Lands Day) and Nov. 11 (Veterans Day).
