DENVER -- If you're thinking of going out shopping for the sweetest deals this Black Friday, the Colorado Department of Parks and Wildlife has a sweeter deal for you: It wants to pick up the tab so you can enjoy all of our state parks for free.

You read that right.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) and the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office? are teaming up to offer free access to all 42 Colorado state parks and are encouraging people to use the hashtag "#FreshAirFriday."

The agencies hope to encourage people to go outside on Black Friday instead of standing in long lines to join the massive shopping spree generally seen on that day.

“It is a long-time Colorado tradition to get outside,” said CPW Director Bob Broscheid. “This Black Friday we invite you to start a new family tradition of enjoying the Colorado state parks together for free if you aren’t shopping."

Park entrance fees are waived, but activities like fishing and camping will still require a valid license and permit.
