1. The 2017 Denver Parade of Homes
What: Dozens of new, custom-built homes will be on display in the Denver metro area starting this week. The Parade of Homes includes 66 newly-built homes throughout the Denver metro area, all of which are up for sale. The tour is self-guided, allowing potential buyers to browse whichever homes they want whenever they want.

2. Brown Palace celebrates its 125th Anniversary
What: Sixteen years after Colorado became the 38th state in the nation, the Brown Palace Hotel opened its doors to the public. Now, celebrating its 125th anniversary, the hotel is organizing

3. Colorado Classic to whiz by downtown Denver
What: The professional world of cycling is coming to the Centennial State for another year (following a hiatus) and this weekend, it’ll whiz by downtown Denver. Two of the four stages of the men’s race are in and around Denver and you can see them as they race.
When: Saturday, Aug. 12 from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 13 starting at 12:20 p.m.

4. Wheat Ridge Carnation Festival
What: Prepare for yet another exciting year at the Wheat Ridge Carnation Festival. A fireworks display will awe both young and old alike, and you can also enjoy live musical acts, a chili cook-off and more. There will also be a beer garden (and there will be non-alcoholic drinks for the little ones to enjoy).

5. Erie Air Fair
What: Erie’s yearly Air Fair invites you to learn about airplanes and other aircraft with display of unique small aircraft, a kid’s adventure zone, a bouncy house and performances from local musicians.

6. Celestial Seasonings Factor Tour
What: Did you know you can tour Colorado’s very own Celestial Seasonings Factory for free? Factory tours run every hour Monday through Sunday. And every tour includes a whiff of the Mint Room, guaranteed to clear any stuffy nose. Afterwards, be sure to visit the sampling bar with over 100 kinds of tea to taste. Note that kids must be at least 5 years old to tour the factory floor.
