7 spring events in Denver we're looking forward to

Posted

DENVER – Now that winter is officially over – that is, until we get another spring snowstorm – it’s time to come out of hibernation and enjoy what this beautiful city has to offer.

Here are seven upcoming Denver events we’re looking forward to:

1.) Rodeo All-Star Weekend

The Rodeo All-Star Weekend is the ultimate pro-rodeo competition with all-star contestants from around the globe. If that’s not all, there’ll also be live music, a fashion showcase, mutton bustin’ and fun social events.

When: April 14 – 15, 2017 | Where: National Western Complex

2.) Cinco de Mayo

The Cinco de Mayo Festival, slated as one of the largest cultural events for the state with over 400,000 visitors each year will take place at Civic Center Park. Enjoy live entertainment on three stages, hundreds of exhibitors, great food and drink, children’s activities, a parade – and the hotly contested green chili cook-off.

When: May 5 – 6, 2017 | Where: Civic Center Park

3.) The Colfax Marathon

Billed as the “ultimate urban tour,” the mile-high course takes you on and off Colfax, through parks, neighborhoods, trails and downtown. You’ll get a chance to enjoy amazing views of the Front Range, Confluence Park, Sports Authority Field at Mile High’s concourse and the Cherry Creek trail.

If you’re not ready for the race, don’t worry – there’s an after-party event in City Park with live music, food and drink.

When: May 19 – 21, 2017 | Where: Throughout Denver

4.) Denver Day of Rock

A free, outdoor music festival that takes place in the heart of downtown Denver, the annual Denver Day of Rock is a tradition that sees dozens of performers bringing rock ‘n’ roll and good vibes to the Mile High City. This event features five stages of live music throughout downtown Denver.

When: May 27, 2017 | Where: Downtown Denver

5.) Denver Arts Festival

A celebration of fine arts and crafts, the Denver Arts Festival features both Colorado artists and a select group of national artists. More than 50,000 art lovers are expected to attend this year – will you be one of them?

When: May 27-28, 2017 | Where: Stapleton’s Conservatory Green

6.) Red Rocks Summer Concert Series + Pepsi Center acts

More than 50 big name artists are coming to Colorado this year to perform at both Red Rocks and the Pepsi Center.

7.) Free days at Denver museums, zoo

We won’t hesitate to walk to the several Denver museums or the Zoo now that we have warmer temperatures.

The cool thing about it all? The free days don’t just end as soon as spring is over. Check them all out by clicking here
