1. Lavender Festival at Chatfield Farms

What: More than 2,000 lavender plants (nearly 1,000 in bloom) will set the scene for this family-friendly celebration of Chatfield Farms' Lavender Garden. The festival includes lavender demonstrations, farm tours, music and kids activities.

Where: Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms, 8500 W. Deer Creek Canyon Road in Littleton, Colo.

When: Saturday, July 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission: General admission is $7, but kids 12 and under get in for free

2. German Fest Denver

What: Wunderbar! Come to the City of Lakewood over the weekend to celebrate and share wonderful German traditions including German beer and food (yes, there will be a beer garden), dance performances, arts and crafts, activities for kids and more. 

Where: Lakewood Heritage Center, 801 S. Yarrow Street in Lakewood, Colo. 

When: Saturday, July 21 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Admission: $7 for adults, $2 for kids ages 3 to 9.

3. Mile High Dance Festival in Denver

What: If you’re tired of plays, comedy shows or live music concerts, then you may want to check out the Mile High Dance Festival this weekend. The day will be filled with free classes, events, food and more!

Where: Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, 119 Park Avenue West in Denver

When: Saturday, July 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

4. Pearl Street Arts Fest

What: A celebration of visual art in Downtown Boulder, the 40th annual Pearl Street Arts Fest includes a variety of art, from whimsical and modern sculptures to traditional watercolors, oils & more. More than 100 artists will showcase their craft between 11th and 15th Streets, turning the Mall into one huge outdoor gallery.

Where: Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, Coo.

5. Summer Fest in Evergreen

What: The 39th annual Summerfest in Evergreen is a family-friendly festival of art, crafts, music, and beer! Over 120 artists and craftspeople from across the country will showcase their work in ceramics, digital art, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture, wood, and more!

Where: Buchanan Park, five minutes from the Evergreen Parkway exit at I-70

When: Saturday, July 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission: $5 for adults, free for children

6. Longmont Jazz Festival 

What: The 20th annual Longmont Jazz Festival continues to celebrate the music and culture surrounding Jazz this year - but at a different location. The festival will be held in downtown Longmont this year on 5th Avenue. Ritmo Jazz Latino, the 2017 nominee for Denver's best Jazz group, will be the festival headliner.

7. Levitt Pavilion free concert series

What: Red Rocks is cool and all, but we all know the drive back after a concert or movie night can be quite the nightmare. The solution? A new music venue not too far from downtown - this weekend, Soto Mayor and Don Chicarron on Saturday and The Stone Foxes and Tracksuit Wedding on Sunday. 

Where: Levitt Pavilion Denver, located in Ruby Hill Park

When: Saturday and Sunday, July 21 and 22 starting at 6 p.m.
